How we can help

New technology. Pending application. Next decision.

Prepare a patent application.

Turn inventor discussions, technical documents, and drawings into a considered filing. Discuss provisional and nonprovisional options in the context of your product development.

Answer the patent examiner.

Understand an Office Action and evaluate arguments, claim amendments, and an examiner interview. Ask about taking over an application already on file.

Plan a patent portfolio.

Identify filing priorities, assess new developments, and connect the patent work to the products and opportunities that matter to your business.

Relevant experience

Comfortable with complex technology.

Vik's experience spans software and AI, embedded and connected systems, sensing technologies, mechanical and electromechanical devices, and aerospace systems. He starts by understanding how your technology works and what your team has contributed.

He also serves as an independent director and Chairman of Intellectual Property at Helio Corporation. Helio's public announcements document a patent program involving spacecraft deployable structures and release mechanisms.

A clear way to begin

Understand the work before committing.

  1. Tell us what you need.

Share the technology area, the type of patent work, and any known deadline.

  2. Discuss the fit.

We consider the matter, relevant parties, and the information needed to define the work.

  3. Review the proposal.

Discuss the scope, fee arrangement, deliverables, and costs outside the quoted phase.

  4. Work directly with Vik.

Move into the technical discussion and agreed legal work after engagement.

Fees

Practical fees, tailored to the work.

A boutique structure allows the engagement to focus on your project. We discuss whether a defined task is suitable for a flat fee or whether staged or hourly work makes more sense. Government fees, outside costs, and later stages are addressed in the proposal.

The purpose is a scope and budget you can evaluate before deciding to proceed.

Common questions

Can you help if my application is already pending?

Yes. We can evaluate taking over pending work after reviewing conflicts, the file, and the time available. Include the current Office Action date and known deadline in your inquiry.

Do I need to be in Texas or Florida?

No. Vik's USPTO registration permits patent representation for clients elsewhere in the United States and overseas. Advice on state law depends on the attorney's admissions and the matter.

Is a provisional application already a patent?

No. It is an initial application that is not examined and does not itself issue as a patent. We can explain the later filing and timing needed to pursue the subject matter.

What should I send first?

Your contact details, company name, a general description of the technology, and the work you need. Please wait to send confidential technical documents until we confirm the appropriate arrangements.
