Managing Attorneys
Vikas “Vik” Parti
Managing Attorney - Texas
Vik Parti is a Registered Patent Attorney and computer science trained technologist whose career has been built around understanding complex technology and protecting it through patents. He has been registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 2009. That long term focus on patents, claims, and technical disclosure now directly supports his work in patent litigation, where outcomes depend on technical accuracy, claim meaning, and a complete command of the record.
Vik’s background in patent preparation and prosecution provides the foundation for litigation ready claim analysis. Years of drafting specifications and claim sets, responding to Office Actions, and navigating examiner positions sharpen the same skills used in litigation to evaluate infringement and invalidity, anticipate how claim terms will be construed, and identify where the written description and prosecution history will help or hurt a case. His experience also includes PTAB support, which informs strategy when district court litigation and PTAB proceedings intersect.
Vik’s technology driven practice spans software and computer implemented inventions, AI, large language model systems, machine learning, 5G and wireless, SaaS and cloud platforms, databases, networking, embedded systems, and other computer integrated systems. He also has experience with medical technology and healthcare innovations, including software driven medical workflows and platforms. This technical fluency translates into litigation strength because he can learn the accused products quickly, map architectures and data flows to claim limitations, and work effectively with technical experts and engineering teams.
In addition, Vik’s years negotiating patent and IP licensing and technology transactions contribute to a practical litigation approach. Licensing, royalty models, field of use limitations, grant backs, improvement rights, and claims based payment provisions are often central to damages theories and settlement outcomes. Having structured and negotiated these agreements, Vik brings business grounded judgment to enforcement, defense, and resolution strategy.
In short, Vik’s prosecution, PTAB related support, technical depth, and licensing experience all converge in patent litigation. He approaches cases by mastering the technology first, then building clear, courtroom ready positions on infringement, invalidity, claim construction, and damages that align with the client’s business goals.
